Spaceman

Spaceman RTP (return to player)

For the Spaceman RTP, the game’s own Game Help states a theoretical 95.50%. Pragmatic Play’s product page showed 95% as checked on 2 October 2026, and 96.50% appears only on launch-era review sites.

Key takeaways

  • The provider does not explain why its Game Help (95.50%) and its product page (95%) differ, and no primary document states the 96.50% quoted by review sites.
  • The Game Help change log records an “RTP update” on 7 June 2022 but gives neither the earlier value nor a reason.
  • By our arithmetic the implied house edge is 4.50% on the Game Help figure and 5.00% on the product-page figure, a gap of half a unit per 100 staked.
  • The figure that applies to a particular game is the one in the Game Help inside that game, where it is offered.

The three Spaceman RTP figures

Three RTP (return to player) figures circulate for Spaceman, from three kinds of source that do not carry equal weight.

The 95.50% figure is the most credible of the three. It comes from the Game Help, the rules text that travels with the game, and it appears in two copies of that document.

The 95% figure is also the provider’s own. The provider does not explain why the two numbers differ, and this site does not guess.

The 96.50% figure has no primary source behind it; it is listed because readers will meet it on review sites, not because it has been verified.

The June 2022 “RTP update” entry

The Game Help carries a change log. Version 1.5, dated 7 June 2022, has the remark “RTP update”, and that is all it records: neither the value before the update nor the reason for it.

Connecting the entry to the review sites’ 96.50% figure is tempting, but the document gives no basis for it: whether Spaceman’s RTP was ever lowered from that figure cannot be established from the documents available.

None of the sources used on this site describes more than one RTP setting for Spaceman, so no claim about RTP versions is made here. The full change log is reproduced under Game Help version history.

How to find the RTP that applies

For any particular game, the figure that counts is the one in the Game Help inside that game, where it is offered. In version 1.7 it is a single line in the Return to Player section, stating the theoretical RTP.

Where a game is offered under a British license, the UK Gambling Commission’s technical standards require information on the likelihood of winning, such as RTP or house edge, to be available to customers.

RTP is one of several things a reader can check directly. The others are set out on the Is Spaceman fair? page.

What each figure implies for the house edge

The house edge is 100% minus the RTP. The Game Help states only the RTP; the house-edge figures below are our arithmetic.

What each quoted RTP figure would imply (our arithmetic)
Quoted RTPImplied house edgeAverage cost per 100 units staked
95% (provider’s product page)5.00%5.00 units
95.50% (Game Help)4.50%4.50 units
96.50% (review sites; no primary source)3.50%3.50 units

These are long-run averages, not forecasts for a session. Over a few dozen or a few hundred rounds, actual results can sit far from the theoretical figure in either direction. Theoretical and actual RTP, and how Spaceman’s number sits beside other crash games, are explained on the page about house edge and RTP in crash games.

RTP, cashout targets and volatility

Cashing out early or late does not change the expected return under the constant-RTP model, which is a model and not Spaceman’s published distribution: every target returns the RTP on average. What the target changes is the spread of results, as the page on volatility in crash games explains.

We found no published volatility rating for Spaceman. The product page listed only an RTP, and the Game Help has no volatility section.
