Spaceman
What is Spaceman?
Spaceman is a crash game developed by Pragmatic Play and announced in March 2022. A multiplier climbs from 1.00x until the round ends at a random, predetermined value, and the only decision left to a player is when to cash out.
Key takeaways
- The two primary sources differ on the theoretical RTP (return to player): the Spaceman Game Help (version 1.7) states 95.50%, and the provider’s product page showed 95% as checked on 2 October 2026.
- The multiplier can reach 5000x, and the Game Help caps the payout at 4,999:1 or the currency equivalent of €500,000, whichever is reached first.
- People search for it as the “Spaceman slot”, and the provider’s own product page is titled with the word “Slot”, but the game has one rising multiplier and no reels.
Spaceman at a glance
“Game Help” means Pragmatic Play’s Spaceman Game Help, version 1.7, whose change log runs to 10 July 2024; the copy inside the game, where it is offered, is the authority for that version. “Product page” and “Crash Games page” are pages of the provider’s website as checked on 2 October 2026. The editorial policy explains how sources are ranked.
| Item | What the sources say | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Provider | Pragmatic Play | Press release, 24 March 2022 |
| Announced | 24 March 2022 | Press release |
| Game type | Online multiplayer crash game; stated not to be a game of skill, because a player’s choice affects nothing except when to cash out | Game Help |
| Theoretical RTP (return to player) | Sources differ: 95.50% in the Game Help, 95% on the provider’s product page | Game Help; product page |
| Starting multiplier | 1.00x in every round | Game Help |
| Maximum multiplier | 5000x, paid automatically to all bets still in the round | Game Help |
| Maximum payout | 4,999:1 (5000x) or the currency equivalent of €500,000, whichever is reached first | Game Help |
| Bets per round | One, with the 50% cashout; no side bets, second bet panel, free spins or bonus rounds are described | Game Help |
| Cashout options | CASHOUT, CASHOUT 50%, AUTO CASHOUT and 50% AUTO CASHOUT | Game Help |
| Bet limits | Depend on the operator and the currency; shown in the Bet Limits indicator next to the game name | The Game Help describes the indicator and states no amounts |
| Volatility rating | None found | The product page listed only RTP; the Game Help has no volatility section |
Three of those rows need a caveat.
- RTP. The 95.50% figure is the theoretical RTP stated in the game’s own rules text. A third figure, 96.50%, circulates on launch-era review sites with no primary document behind it. Spaceman’s RTP figures are set out with sources and dates on their own page.
- Maximum payout. Operators may apply their own lower caps; that is our caution, not a statement in the Game Help.
- Bet limits. Figures quoted by review sites vary by operator and are not fixed limits of the game.
What Spaceman is and who makes it
A cashout pays the amount cashed out times the multiplier at which it is settled, and whatever is still in the round when it ends is lost. The page on how a Spaceman round works follows one round from the bet to the end point.
Pragmatic Play’s press release of 24 March 2022 presented Spaceman as the provider’s first crash-style game and as a social, multiplayer RNG (random number generator) title. That is an announcement date: the sources used here do not document when the game went live at any operator.
The format itself is older. Spaceman belongs to the wider family of crash games, whose earliest public record dates from 2014. The provider’s Crash Games page lists Spaceman alongside High Flyer and Big Bass Crash, and describes it as the provider’s original crash game and the one that introduced the 50% cashout feature. That is the provider’s own description, not an independent finding.
Why it is often called the “Spaceman slot”
Many people look for the game as the “Spaceman slot”, and the title of the provider’s own product page used the word “Slot”, although the page describes a crash game. Spaceman is not a reel slot: the Game Help describes one multiplier and one decision. The comparison page Is Spaceman a slot? sets the two formats side by side.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free Spaceman demo?
Pragmatic Play’s product page offered a demo behind an 18+ confirmation as checked on 2 October 2026, and availability may vary by country.
