Spaceman
Spaceman rules
Spaceman rules come from the Game Help that Pragmatic Play supplies with the game: one bet per round, a payout equal to the amount cashed out times the multiplier at which it is settled, and the loss of anything not cashed out when the round ends. The same document caps the payout at 4,999:1 (5000x) or the currency equivalent of €500,000, whichever is reached first, and sets out what happens on a disconnection or a canceled round.
Key takeaways
- A round that ends at 1.00x loses every bet in it, and a round that reaches 5000x pays every bet still in the game automatically.
- Under the Game Help’s disconnection policy, a lost connection leads to a canceled bet, a refund (or a loss if 1.00x is the crash multiplier) or a forced cashout, depending on when it happens; the policy does not apply with Auto Cashout enabled, except where only 50% Auto Cashout is enabled.
- On a technical malfunction the round is canceled and GAME CANCELLED is shown: valid cashouts stand and money that had not been cashed out is refunded.
- The Game Help states no bet amounts: minimum and maximum stakes depend on the operator and currency and are shown in the Bet Limits indicator.
Where the Spaceman rules come from
The Game Help is the rules document that Pragmatic Play supplies with the game to licensed operators. This summary follows version 1.7, whose change log runs to 10 July 2024.
The Game Help describes Spaceman as an online multiplayer game of the “Crash” type. It also states that Spaceman is not a game of skill: a player’s choice has no impact on the game other than deciding when to cash out.
Where a game is offered under a British license, the UK Gambling Commission’s technical standards require the rules to be easily available before a customer commits to gamble.
Note
This is an independent summary, not the rules themselves, and a later version of the Game Help may exist. If the summary differs from the Game Help shown inside the game, the in-game text and the operator’s terms are what apply.
Placing bets: acceptance and rejection
Each round takes a single bet. Betting closes at the BETS CLOSED message; the bet is then processed, and the game replies with BET ACCEPTED or BET REJECTED. The full message sequence is set out in how a Spaceman round works.
The Game Help states no minimum or maximum amounts. It points to the Bet Limits indicator next to the game name, which shows the lowest and highest stake allowed, and says a bet may be rejected if it does not meet them.
Those limits depend on the operator and the currency. Review sites quote various figures, but they vary by operator and are not fixed limits of the game.
With autoplay, the bet is repeated over a chosen number of rounds, and the bet and the auto cashout settings are locked while it runs. Its stop conditions are listed under Spaceman features.
Spaceman payout rules
How a payout is calculated
A cashout pays the part of the bet being cashed out, multiplied by the multiplier at which the cashout is settled. A 10-unit bet settled at 2.00x returns 20 units.
Which multiplier counts for a manual click and for a preset value is covered in the Spaceman cashout overview and on the auto cashout page.
The maximum payout
The maximum possible payout is 4,999:1 (5000x) or the currency equivalent of €500,000, whichever is reached first. The game continues after the maximum payout is reached.
Operators may set lower caps of their own; that is our caution, not a statement in the Game Help. The Spaceman multiplier page works through when the €500,000 cap is reached before 5000x.
A round that ends at 1.00x
The multiplier always starts at 1.00x, and a round can end there. If it does, all bets placed in that round are lost. The Game Help gives no frequency for such rounds.
A round that reaches 5000x
There is no crash at 5000x. If the multiplier reaches that value, the win is paid automatically to every bet still in the game.
Amounts not cashed out
When the round ends, any amount not cashed out by then is lost. That includes the half left in play after the 50% cashout: it has to be cashed out with CASHOUT before the round ends.
Malfunctions and canceled rounds
If a technical malfunction occurs, the game is canceled and GAME CANCELLED is shown. Valid cashouts stand, and money that had not been cashed out is refunded; in extreme cases, all bets on the canceled round are refunded.
Spaceman disconnection policy
A separate section of the Game Help covers a player losing the connection to the game server. Depending on the moment the disconnection is detected, the bet is canceled, refunded or settled by a forced cashout.
| When the connection is lost | What happens to the bet | Label in History |
|---|---|---|
| Before BETS CLOSED | The bet is canceled. | Not stated |
| After the bet is confirmed at BETS CLOSED, before the game starts or while the multiplier is 1.00x | The bet is refunded, unless 1.00x is the crash multiplier. In that case it is settled as a loss. | Refund (disconnection) |
| During the game, at 1.01x or above, with no crash | Forced cashout as soon as the disconnection occurs. | Cashout (disconnection) |
| At any point, with Auto Cashout enabled | The policy does not apply. The exception is a bet with only 50% Auto Cashout enabled, which stays covered. | Not applicable |
The Game Help does not elaborate on the Auto Cashout case beyond the exception for 50% Auto Cashout.

The 7 June 2022 entry records an RTP (return to player) update without giving the earlier value. Version 1.7 states a theoretical RTP of 95.50%, but published sources differ, and Spaceman’s RTP figures are compared on their own page.
The 10 July 2024 entry is part of the dated timeline on the Spaceman fairness page.
